Understanding CS2 Map Pool

The CS2 competitive map pool consists of 7 maps, each with unique layouts, strategies, and betting considerations. Understanding map-specific statistics is crucial for profitable betting.

CT vs T Side Balance

Maps are classified by which side (Counter-Terrorist or Terrorist) has a statistical advantage. This affects:

  • Knife Round Importance: Winning knife round lets teams choose advantageous side first
  • Half-Time Scores: Expected score splits (e.g., 9-6 on CT-sided maps)
  • Comeback Potential: T-sided maps allow easier comebacks after losing first half

Map Veto Strategy

In Best of 3 (BO3) matches, teams ban and pick maps strategically:

  1. Team A bans 1 map
  2. Team B bans 1 map
  3. Team A picks 1 map (Map 1)
  4. Team B picks 1 map (Map 2)
  5. Team A bans 1 map
  6. Team B bans 1 map
  7. Remaining map is played (Map 3 decider)

Betting Tip: Check team map pools before matches. Some teams have 70%+ win rates on specific maps but avoid others entirely through bans.

Pro Betting Tips

  • Check team's last 10 matches on specific map before betting
  • AWPers dominate Dust2 - check player stats
  • CT-sided maps favor teams with stronger defensive setups
